Elaine, a single mom, is in withdrawal from emotional attachments. However, while fact-checking Stone's novel, she meets Nathan Marks, a local antiquarian bookseller. Elaine finds herself drawn to Nathan, but has trouble interpreting his signals. As she assesses her expectations — emotional, financial and romantic — Elaine learns that romance isn't dead. It's alive and well and full of surprises.
